History
CampLIFE! was founded in 2002 as a way for John and Lynette Gillis
of Austin, Texas to give a free camp experience to kids who would
normally not experience it. With the help of family and a whole bunch
of friends, John and Lynette welcomed a few dozen kids from The
Methodist Children Home for a weekend of water skiing, canoing,
sailing and other fun camp activities.
Over the past 6 years it has expanded to include more than one
weekend a year and other groups have experienced CampLIFE!
such as H.U.G.S.S. (Helping Unite Gold Star Survivors) based out of
Ft. Hood in Killeen, TX.
CampLIFE! is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity.
